History
Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) evolved from the chiropractic profession and has become one of the most sought-after methods of healing and transformation. It was developed in 1985 by a Colorado based chiropractor, Dr. Donald Epstein, D.C. to incorporate a whole-body approach to healing.
There are approximately 400 chiropractors worldwide that practice NSA, which is advocated by well-known names including Anthony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, M.D., and Candace B. Pert. Along with these great visionaries, chiropractors worldwide are waking humanity from a long and deep sleep to experience life to its greatest potential.
Spinal Entrainments
NSA treatments are called Spinal Entrainments. An entrainment is to bring the different parts of a system into harmony with each other. Specifically, a spinal entrainment is slight pressure applied to the body through a series of gentle contacts along the spine ranging from the bottom of the skull to the tip of the tailbone. These chosen points are called Spinal Gateways. Spinal Gateways lead to the front portion of the brain (called the frontal cortex) and through entrainments it awakens the frontal cortex resulting in profound changes in our bodies.
An appointment is approximately 20 minutes, and is performed while fully clothed: it does not consist of “cracking” or forcing the spine, neck, or back in any way. Initially, entrainments are performed while lying face down on a chiropractic table, and in more advanced levels is performed while lying sideways, on one’s back, or sitting.
Step by Step
As you follow your wellness path, you may experience one of two different healing waves that generate in the body during Network Care. These two healing waves are called the Respiratory Wave and the Somatopsychic Wave.
A Respiratory Wave consists of a spontaneous deep breathing that releases tension and releases the body, as well as a Somatopsychic Wave, which generates rolling movements up and down the spine. These waves signify progression, either in bodily awareness of hidden spinal subluxations or number of other health/wellness benefits.
To Be Motivated or not to be Motivated? That is the Question
The frontal cortex is responsible for blueprinting several aspects of the body:
- Physical healing and regeneration
- Mental and emotional behaviour
- Spiritual awareness and connection
The frontal cortex enables higher thinking and functions just like a switch flipping on or off. When on, we become motivated to be involved in our lives and we give the attention that our bodies need to stay healthy, young and open to moving in positive directions. Otherwise, when our frontal cortex is not connecting to our body, or is turned off, we are put in a state of defense/fear and we become numb to the world and beauty of life.
Becoming Disconnected
How do our bodies become disconnected? One way is through past events. Unfortunately, any stressful event in our lives can create patterns of defence in the frontal cortex, which shuts down the normal communication link to our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual components that make up who we are. This broken link disrupts our abilities to regenerate, stay healthy, and function normally.
Another way our bodies become disconnected is through Spinal Subluxations. This occurs when a traumatic event has created an emotional charge that the body cannot deal with at the time. It is then sent somewhere else in the body, usual in your spine, to be experienced later at a safer time. Given this cause, it is no surprise that a large portion of the population has back problems!
As more traumatic events happen and are not dealt with, the frontal cortex becomes more and more disconnected with the body. The brain then “forgets” where it has put these unresolved emotional charges. Since the brain cannot find these emotional charges, they accumulate and without resolution, they manifest as long-standing chronic conditions: pains, illness, and/or disease.
Perseverance of Body
When the body feels it is safe to release emotional charges, it normally occurs during an act or an event unrelated to the initial trauma, and will push the body and/or mind over the edge. This could be as simple as bending over to pick up a pencil or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. It may take only a few minutes, or it could be days later when you can no longer move or function from the pain and distress. This is when most people turn to medications to fix the problem. Although such medications may help in the short term, we would like to provide long-term wellness.
We are all subject to various types of stress: emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical. Emotional and mental stress tends to have the most significant impact on your health and life, but any imbalance in one of these elements can manifest as imbalances in your body. Network Spinal Analysis teaches the brain to re-connect every one of your parts and systems to function as a whole. In this way, NSA initiates new strategies allowing you to adapt to stressful events better than you have before.
